RE: SB/24

- I don't recall saying that Rex Grossman is not that bad. Admittedly, he's pretty bad, but so are most quarterbacks in the NFL. You're right, though, he's not in the top 15 (although he's arguably better or as good as McNair, Losman, and Kitna, but definitely not as good as Alex Smith or Jeff Garcia). You know I was just baiting you to make a blog post, anyway.

- I appreciate your thoughts on Cinderella Tres. I also noticed these commercials, if only for the horrendous animation. Next time it's on, check out how poorly drawn everything is and contrast that with the original or any of the old Disney movies. At least they used shading and gave the impression that these characters were operating in three dimensions. They really must slash the budget for these lame ass sequels. Also, I think it takes some serious stones to fuck with classic fairy tales like that - kind of irresponsible on Disney's part to exploit the Brothers Grimm.

- I chose Milo over Morris last week in the Guess Who's a Terrorist feature and I'm still liking that pick, even though it looked dicey there for a minute with our man Morris. Here's a question: when Milo found out that Morris's bro was shacked up in the hospital but didn't want to distract him from his work, why would he have told Chloe about it? Cuz he knew Chloe would tell Morris and that Morris would react by going to see his brother/inadvertently help the terrorists, that's why. Milo? Definitely a terrorist, book it.

- Phenomenal episode of the Hills last night following last week's piece of shit. Let's recap the episode for my new favorite character in anything ever, my man Spencer: 1) sneakily tried to keep Heidi from seeing Audrina so he could continue playing both sides, 2) tried to fight a kid who told Heidi her clothes were inappropriate for work (which was awesome and clearly staged), 3) got caught hanging out with the Playmates when he thought Heidi was heading out of town and subsequently got bitched out for it, and 4) looked sad for like 8 seconds, cut his losses, and still left with Team Playmates! What a performance, the likes of which we will not be seeing anytime soon. Also, redemption for the Upper Lipless - I guess she's not gonna be struggling for air time after all. Unfortunate for us viewers only in that her presence will likely continue to sully the reputation of Spencer, resulting in further alienation of the most entertaining part of the show.

- Is February the worst sports month? I mean, after the Super Bowl, what do you have? College basketball isn't that interesting until at least the last week of the month, if not until March. The NBA isn't exactly holding my attention. I don't live in Florida anymore, so "pitchers and catchers reporting" day is no longer a "I'm definitely skipping school to go watch the Red Sox" day anymore. Maybe Smalls is onto something with his fake interest inNASCAR, cuz I think the Daytona 500 is this month.

- Finally, a word on the importance of lunch. Too many times lately I've been suckered into going to these shitty places for lunch. It's bad enough when you have to take your lunch back to your desk and don't even really get a break. But it's unforgiveable when your lunch tastes like poop. Nothing pisses me off more or disappoints me more than a wasted 7 bucks on crappy lunch. Seriously, what else is there to look forward to during each work day? People constantly rag on me for going to Chipotle 4 times a week, but inevitably that fifth day always disappoints me when I actually go out with other people. Socializing is nice and all, but I need good lunch. You know how many consecutive times Chipotle has gotten it done for me? 496. Never disappoints. There are a select few other places that are tolerable, but this "adventuring to new places" crap needs to stop. Adventure on the weekend, gimme the standbys during the week. I'm not counting on a lot of people agreeing with me here about going to the same one or two places, but surely you understand the enormous letdown of a mediocre lunch.

Full full clout, and I'm out.

highlight of 'the hills' last night - spencer pushing max in the the faux fight, then when max brushes his shoulder, spencer proclaims, "bro - that's assault!"...then he tells him to walk into a moving car. can this kid get his own show please?

hey, even the best of us need a little kick in the ass every once in awhile. you didnt really think i thought grossman was a top 15 qb, did you?

legend: that was a great part - i especially appreciated the fact that hes like 5'8", 150 maybe, yet the other kid looked completely intimidated. however, it didnt even approach the end where spencer looked like maybe he felt a little bit bad about macking on girls in front of heidi and then within seconds leaving with those three chicks. he needs his own show where a new terrible thing happens to him each week. like the first week that guy max could roll to his house and beat the shit out of him. the next week he could end up with an STD. and so on.

i gotta call you both out on the "nothing good in sports right now" comments. i'll be the first to admit that I'm not a big college bball fan, but even I am captivated by arguably the most exciting regular season in 20 years. the talent is simply the best I can remember (on top of oden and durant, brandon wright and josh mcroberts are both future franchise guys). these guys will have a huge impact on the nba almost immediately. on top of the talent, there are about 8 legitimately good teams rite now, who are all playing like 1 seeds. i realize you two would rather sit around giving each other dirty sanchez's and arguing over who's going to win the AFC east next year, but cmon fellas, broaden your horizons.

on another note, did either of you see that one of the top Formula 1 drivers (a Spanish dude) just became the first person to switch full-time to NASCAR. Are they trying to mimic the plot of Talledega Nights? If he drives a Perrier car, I'm callin it quits...

college basketball is interesting right now, but not nearly as captivating as it will be a month from now. just so you know, josh mcroberts is not going to be an nba franchise player. he needs another 25 pounds across his chest. hes too skinny to bang inside with the big boys of the nba, and hes not quick enough to mark the shifty nowitzki-type FC. hes a nice college player who will go pro, for sure, but he's probably not even in the top 5 big men in this draft (oden, durant, noah, hansborough are notables who are definitely better).

secondly, i dont see what the big deal about juan pablo montoya switching over to nascar. very few nascar fans will be able to root for him, no matter how good he becomes, because the fan base is mostly inbred rednecks who hate non-christian foreigners. not even that, i believe helio castroneves made a big shift from indy car to nascar a few years ago. that sucked for all parties involved.

yo dick - gotta call u out on the CB comments - you obviously looked at the mock draft on espn.com. to say hansborough is a better pro prospect than mcroberts is ludacris. hansborough is 6'8 (shorter than his profile indicates) with short arms. he's a bruiser, not even 25% as athletic as mcroberts. "he needs to add 25lbs across his chest"...they're called nba strength training programs broseph. eddie curry was a lean 195 lbs before the bulls drafted him. stick to what you know and keep analyzing the acidity of chad pennington's bowel movements to ascertain (sp?) the jets chances of making the playoffs in 2008.

yeah, i think hansbrough is gonna be underwhelming as a pro. he may have been real good about 30 years ago in the dave cowens mold, but he seems limited athletically. mcroberts is definitely the superior athlete (didn't he win the high school dunk contest a few years back, a la david tenacious lee?), but probably needs another year of school. put it this way, when the celtics get fuct in the lottery with the fifth pick and draft hansbrough, im not gonna be happy. i also wouldn't be particularly happy with mcroberts, but i think he'll be better.

CALL ME OUT????? I havent looked at a fucking thing about college hoops. In fact, after I posted that, I wanted to go back and include Glen "Big Baby" Davis as another guy who I would rather have on my pro team than McRoberts.

Hansborough was a big name last year, too. Get your shit straight.
I would ask you to stick to what you know, but then you'll be limited to writing about nothing. You'd just repeat the words "call u out" and "broseph" over and over again.

For the record - and this is for everyone who reads this blog - I do not take ideas from other articles on the web. I have never done it and will never do it. If I do get an idea from ESPN, I will say where I got it. I have like 10 minutes a day to write something on the blog. I don't have time to research hypotheses and create well-planned posts.
